You know what I mean by this . That new Ferrari owner who lugs his/her 458 around town in 5th .... or worse .... rev's it constantly in first because he/she is afraid to shift it and hasn't sussed out how to go to Auto Mode . The guy that buys some new toy only to sell it six months and 300 miles later ..... because he has to have the newest version . The More Money than Brains type that buys a Supercar only to drive it straight into a pond at less than 100 kph because he/she paniced

Would you use it?

As proper petrol-heads, I am curious of your opinion about the website www.autobodycompare.com. Do you think its a reasonable idea? Would you use it?

Answers on a postcard please!

Refuelling my car

Hello,

Recently, when I try and fill up the tank, the petrol pump (the one on the forecourt, not my car's) keeps cutting out. This happens almost immediatley, so it isn't due to the car's petrol tank being full. I can only now fill the tank by barely squeezing the trigger on the pump handle. Does anyone have any clues as to what's causing this?

Thanks

David

Not saying I wasn't a bad gtrslngr back in the day  but ........ well .... you know

Sergio Pininfarina

Sergio Pininfarina is no more. He died monday night on the 2nd of July. It's a sad story the demise of the family Pinifarina. Debth & death resulting in the family losing it's company and keeping just 1,2 % of shares. A mere token.

But let's not go here. Let's talk about one of this truly great designer. He changed car history, it's design that has been the biggest attractor for people to buy a car and Pininfarina is the most succesful at creating beauties. Ferrari 250 GT, Ferrari ENZO, Ferrari F40, Peugeot 406, to name just a few. But ...

The Big Question: Evolution or Intelligent Design?

Are cars just randomly conceived pieces of commercial stuff, or do designers really know what they are doing, and what cars should look like? Are cars clumps of ideas given form, or do they really qualify as objects created by gods? Looking at the cars of today, or any other era for that mattter, do you see products born of chaos and random events, or signs of purposeful guiding hands?

Sergio Pininfarina RIP

One of the great men of car design history has passed away: Sergio Pininfarina is no longer with us.

Contrary to public belief, Sergio Pininfarina was no designer - unlike his father, Battista - but a very respectable and influential manager. Not only did he widen the scope of Pininfarina's operation by opening R&D facilites, as well as two production factories (which would almost ruin the company decades later and were eventually sold off or closed), he also made Pininfarina the home of generations of outstanding design talents, such as Paolo Martin, Aldo Brovarone, Leonardo Fioravanti and Ken Okuyama, to ...
