Design- Do BMW understand it?

After the rather kind description of lokinen about my character, I will risk again the wrath of CAR-online (I now have friends in high places so I hope that I am safe), by posting a topic.

the painting itself was very tirening and it was a surprise to me how much surface area a car has. at times i wanted to just take that brush and dab away. it's hard to say 'fcuk it' and start at one corner.

Head Lights

We bought a 6 month old 525d in May of this year (reg 57). Since the evenings have become darker I have been using my headlights more and have noticed that when they are dipped, visablility is reduced to about 50 - 80 yards all the way across the road, i.e. they do not illuminate the side of the road at all beyond the 50 yards.  This is particularly dangerous on a duel carrageway or if the car in front is any distance away.  I had it checked by BMW and they said there was nothing wrong with them.  Has ...

odd having a segment just for BMW.... could it be that no-one else polarises opinion quite like them...

for me:
Z4 coupe, 6, 3 convertible and Touring and new X5 are the only examples where the Bangle concept hangs together.
The rest just look uncomfortable and become that last bastion for the justification: "Well if you get it in the right colour with the right wheels they look OK"

I can't stand this approach, if a car's shape cannot hold itself together in any colour with plain steel wheels, it ain't worth having. I know some colours work better, but they don't define a ...
