my own BMW art car

the painting itself was very tirening and it was a surprise to me how much surface area a car has. at times i wanted to just take that brush and dab away. it's hard to say 'fcuk it' and start at one corner.

What is wrong with Audi?

Simple question really. What has happened to Audi design? Once they were the epiotme of cool, with their restrained elegance and sophisitication they really appealed a minimalist design sense.  Their new models, R8 and A5 aside, hold very little appeal. They have lost that refined niche and become all showy. Why? Everyone knows that Audi weren't sporty (and still are'nt in the main), so why look the way they do?

I used to really like Audi, now they are my least favoured German. Is it just me that has changed or is it them?

Porsche Haters?

By looking at the barrage of negative comments on every Porsche story on the website one wonders how can a company so lauded by the press be so loathed by, what it seems, everyone else (ignoring their commercial success, im talking about the CAR Online website readers).

I have to say i'm a bit biased. I think the Boxster/Cayman is the benchmark in their respective categories and the 911 is as close to perfect as a car can get. I love it's pace, its noise and yes its looks brought on by that quirky and unique engine layout. I think ...

BMW 8 Series will re-launch in 2010

BMW Series 8 will re-launch, Benz CLS will be its competitor. In Chinese market as we know there is BMW 3 Series, 5 Series and 7 Series cars as well, and now there are rumors that BMW will be re-revival of the 8 Series models, the new model will be a four-door sports car model. And similar with Mercedes-Benz CLS-class model.

The competitors will lock at the Mercedes-Benz CLS car, Aston, Martin Rapide and Porsche Panamera model. (Autocar)

Hi!

What does everyone think of the lamborghini estoque? personally i don't think its very nice, lamborghini's should be fast two seaters, not slow family cars!

Head Lights

We bought a 6 month old 525d in May of this year (reg 57). Since the evenings have become darker I have been using my headlights more and have noticed that when they are dipped, visablility is reduced to about 50 - 80 yards all the way across the road, i.e. they do not illuminate the side of the road at all beyond the 50 yards.  This is particularly dangerous on a duel carrageway or if the car in front is any distance away.  I had it checked by BMW and they said there was nothing wrong with them.  Has ...

More TT-RS info

Autocar has posted on their website more info about the TT-RS.

They claim it will have a 335bhp and 332lb ft, 5cylinder, 2.5lt, twincharger engine (both supercharged and turbocharged). They say it will do 0-100kph in around 4.5 seconds and that it will have a rear-biased quattro 4WD system! If correct that sounds like an amazing pocket supercar! OK not a REAL supercar but you cant knock performance like that.

But CAR Online (Tim) said that it'll have a single turbo 2.5lt 5cyl engine instead, after a tip from their 'reliable' sources. Who to trust now?

Why these manufacturers?

Why do we only have the choice of these manufacturers? Tim, SJ can't we start a new topic heading, for say, Lancia?

If you can, and it's just that I can't, please forgive me, computers are scary I just do as they say. I asked mine, but its got all sulky and wont talk anymore.

Thinking of getting a Z4 M

As the title says i'm thinking of buying a used Z4 M. Dont mind if it's a coupe or roadster as long as i can get it with bluetooth, the top spec hi fi and maybe sat nav. The rest of the options i dont really mind except perhaps i would prefer something other than black leather inside (too boring). Exterior colour i dont mind either as i think the M looks great in all available colours.

So anyway i looked at some ads on Pistonheads, Autotrader and the BMW approved used cars and found some i'll probably ring for ...
