CAR Magazine binders for sale

FYI, I have 12 "official" CAR Magazine binders currently for sale on eBay, dark blue with gold CAR (in the usual lower-case) on the spine.

Search for "car magazine binder" and they're in two sizes, 310 x 227 x 118mm and 320 x 250 x 120mm.
£5ea + P&P; 50% proceeds to Sustrans.

Many magazines are a FREE optional extra (call and collect only).
I don't expect/can't be bothered to try to sell them as well.

I owe a lot to CAR Magazine, for example my appreciation of a well composed photograph and of well written English.

 Bit disappointed with the standard 'tell-us-what-you-think-but-not-really' marketing rubbish questions.

If you'd wanted a bit of non-antiseptic opinion, you might have given us an 'anything you want to add box'. Wherein I could have said

A:-that 4x4 offroad and softroad vehicles bore me to death, are for the most part plug ugly , take up far too much room on the road, and have no business in a magazine called 'CAR'. 

B:-that your standard of photography is terrific, and can we have a piece about your photographers and how they go about taking the pictures please.

C:-that you do motorsport articles ...

Geneva motor show 2012

It's that time of the year again: the Geneva motor show is looming! The 2012 show kicks off on 6 March and we're wondering how to cover it. We have plenty of conversations internally about our treatment of motor shows, but I'd welcome your views.

Do you like our current formats? We currently:

• Publish individual news stories on the key cars
• Write a Live Blog reporting the colour and atmosphere and news as it happens 
• Wrap things up with a Gavin Green blog
• Record a video chat with key CAR correspondents live at ...

I'm keen to get old copies of Car from the late '60s up until the late '80s. Any condition considered, and willing to collect from anywhere in the UK. Well almost anywhere!

The December edition of CAR carries a welcome comparison test of the VW Scirocco, Ford Focus, the Alfa Giulietta and the Opel Astra GTC. Some details caught my attention.

In the December edition the Focus´s exterior is summed up as "blander to behold than Daybreak without Christine Bleakley."1 Fine, I hate the exterior as well. But wait. In February, CAR (page 70) opined that the Focus was "modern, confident and dynamic, suggesting pent-up energy in the way the Mk1 did." That´s quite a difference of opinion, isn´t it?

Trying to get Car in Canada

Hello all,

I had previously been a subscriber but I let my sub lapse for a while. I saw the new 2 for 1 (pay of 1 year, get 2 years of Car) offer earlier in the year and thought I would subscribe. This offer appeared to be availble in Canada, so I duly entered all my info and waited, and waited. After a month or so I checked my online sub status and nothing was listed. I send an email to customer care and after a few weeks I got a reply saying that my card had been delcined ...

CAR online update

Morning all

When you log on to the CAR site this morning you may get a surprise...

Correct a few things have changed, or more to the point been added.

You will notice:

  1. a new subscription button under the header
  2. Latest news has taken place of related articles to the left of all stories
  3. Below each story is where the related articles will now sit - this currently isn't showing correct relations, but we have been informed this may take a couple of days to catch up so please bear with us.

Can't find online entry for Auris comp.

Just flicking through the October issue, on pages 156 and 157there's a competition to guess how far an Auris Hybrid will go on a 45 litre tank.

I can't find the entry form on this website.

Late again.

For some months now I have noticed my subscription copy of CAR arrives in my postbox some 2 weeks or more after the airmail copy hits bookshops.

In the old days it would always beat the bookshops.

What has changed ?
