Lexus floods SEMA with fleet of eight show cars

The new Lexus next week will most definitely be at SEMA. The Japanese luxury brand is going to have a standout display in Las Vegas filled with a fleet of the archetypical SEMA cars--low lying, sinister and in general, sweet. Among the highlights:

The Project GS stands out as head-turner, and it's the work of the tuners at Five Axis. It's very low to the ground and has 20-inch alloys and a wide body kit. There's also custom dual exhaust, sport shocks, performance-lowering springs and even bigger brakes. In front, it's a six-piston, two-piece setup, and in the back it's ...

Forum improvements/requests

OK lets all list things we'd like to see changed in the forums.

I would like more reading space when you're reading a thread. The two columns on either side with the "Search Members And Posts", "My Profile" etc and the banner and "Hot Topics/Latest Comments" tabs could either be placed on the top or bottom of the page or be gone all together when you are reading a thread. When you are browsing the forums leave them there they dont take up space. This would make the posts easier to write and more relaxing to read.

An easier way to ...

Thanks this week

Ok, in order to start some discussion and interaction I'm going to start a thread and try to thank those members of the online site who I think have contributed poisitively to the site. And, if they really hard, perhaps the authors too!

In no order at all (just those that enter my head at the time of writing)

ga41- Keeps trying on the forum and responds to threads. Deserves a medal for perseverance!

Lokinen- same as above.

betrandnairobi- insightful, intelligent comments on the website. Nicely structured arguments

Print Service?

Have you considered offering a print service from the website?

Have a collection of your best photos over the years and sell high quality prints in a few sizes. Maybe have them framed as well or something, i dont know. Oh and definitely make them available to readers abroad (i.e. me).

service and repair code

This new code has been developed in response to specific calls from government for one unified and consistent approach to customer service and dispute resolution for the garage sector.

It is an initiative and opportunity that the sector needs to support in order to avoid legislative measures to provide the increased levels of protection for consumers being demanded.

I hope you’ll take a few minutes to visit the website and find out more about it for yourselves – this isn’t spam, more a request that motorists become aware of this important industry initiative and start to ask the garages about ...

November edition

The November edition marks a continued upswing in the re-readability of Car. (I´ll still be looking at this edition in 2014.) The graphics are looking much tidier and I shall heap extra praise (from my can of pre-whipped flattery) upon the Infiniti article for both form and content. The photos were superb and very smartly laid out and accompanied a refreshing and vigorous slab of text. The Nanjin MG story also caught my eye for its lush photos by Mr Fagelson and the well-tailored accompanying story. It was as good an article as one would find in 1995, which is a nice circumstance. I notice Greg Fountan, a former Car editor, has been unlocked from cryogenic suspension and ...

Smart safety

I have a question I hope someone here will find the time to answer:

I am considering buying a used Smart Forfour. However, I have one serious doubt: Safety

The Forfour performed well in the Euro Ncap, with one notable and serious exception: Child safety. It totally failed, earning only 7 points when competitors were awarded 30+. I have a 3 year old son, so I would like to know if anyone here can explain the Ncap disaster-score, and comment on wether this car really is unsafe for children?
