I just read a small article in Evo magazines website abou the successor of the 147.

They have spy shots of a 5 door test mule which they say is based on the Fiat Bravo platform and will only be a 5 door!

I for one completely dissagree! I thought the 3 door 147 (pre-facelift) was the most elegant and beatiful car of its caterogy and it just recently started showing its age. I really think they should do a 3 door one! A 5 door GTA with almost the same size as the outgoing 156 doesnt sound so ...

New Vauxhall????

Having just read the piece in CAR February about the Vectra replacement, and noting the fuss they're making about the new 'Insignia' name, I can't help thinking that the problem name is at the other end of the bootlid. To me, the Vauxhall brand name in the UK has absolutely no 'street-cred' at all. It says either "My fleet manager made me do it" or "Hey, a year-old car for half price!"
Wouldn't GM be better off consigning the Vauxhall brand to the waste bin and start using the Opel brand in the UK? I might buy an Opel, I wouldn't ...
