Fiat and P.S.A merge

Coming from Italy (and not denied in France),serious talks are apparently going on between the FIAT group and P.S.A Peugeot Citroen regarding a full alliance. This would make the group the 4th largest in the world ahead of Renault-Nissan

What do you all think?

Porsche buying a Tesla roadster

Read online that rumour has it that Porsche is quite interested in the upstart from Silicon Valley and have put in an order for a Tesla Roadster of their own to apparently study in detail..

Is Porsche looking to build an electric sports car in the future? I can hear the die-hards screaming and crying already!

Super Saloons!

Currently, this term brings cars such as the Audi RS6 and BMW M5 to mind. But soon this term will adopt a new image. It seems in the next couple of years Bentley will experience some tough competition in the super super saloon market. Not sure why, In a time of economic crisis, making cars heavier and bigger seems an odd decision. Never the less, Porsche, Aston Martin and Lamborghini have all got Four door thrillers in the pipeline that will take on the Arnage. But with these companies taking time and resources to develop and produce these cars, will ...

G.M going to the wall

A few months ago I personally said I never believed G.M could ever go bust, too much money and too many jobs involved I said.

Rick Wagoner annouced yesterday loss of 2.5 billion dollars and finally mentioned the fact that the company could be going bust as early as 2009 if it doesnt get a share of  the 25billion dollars promised by the govenment and lately by President Obama asap.

I also know he is trying to sell the Hummer brand and ACDelco(car parts) and also that he wants to close down a factory in eastern France.

Now call me naive but is Rick Wagoner just preaching the worse to get his hand on ...

Infiniti convertible will go on public soon

Looking forward the Infiniti convertible coming to enter into China market. A long-awaited Infiniti convertible will go public at the Los Angeles auto show Nov. 19 -- but Bloomingdale's customers will get the opportunity to buy it before then.

A limited-edition Infiniti G convertible -- featuring red interior, 19-inch wheels and a special front grille -- will be sold through Bloomingdale's annual holiday mail-order catalog on Nov. 6.

Catalog customers will have a chance to buy one of 200 of the new Premier Edition convertibles. A phone number in the catalog will connect shoppers to ...

The fate of Hummer?

What do you think will happen to big chubby Hummer?

Will it get sold to some obscure (to Westerners anyway) Chinese company? Will it just go bankrupt and THEN get sold to some obscure Chinese company? Will it suck it up and persevere, you know "what doesnt kill you makes you stronger" kind of stuff?

I'm not experienced enough in such matters to accurately predict what will happen but i'd guess they'll get sold soon. Opinions? Anyone more knowledgeable care to contribute?

The Viper Rumour

Today I read that the Viper could be on the chopping block for Cerberus. That is the biggest mistake I have ever heard of.

I know the Viper isn't particularely the most profitable car for Chrysler, but its their popular vehicle. I mean, Volkwagen looses buckets of money with the Veyron, but they keep it into production because its their famous landmark car.

I want to question, will the Dodge Demon really be the replacement for the Viper? I thought it was just going to be the little brother.
