False idols

Here is a new thread which I hope will allow people such as myself to vent their feelings about cars which are lauded by many, yet leave us a little cold, or worse completely umoved.

My greatest such car is the Porsche 356. Now I know it was a good sportscar in class and began the Porsche empire but it was a dumpy little sod. All bubous bodywork and dinky track width. The later versions with their more upright headlights looked even worse. And it wasn't even that fast then, let alone now. An over-rated little pudding in my opinion.

Worst road/drive

Your worst journey/drive and on what kind of road.......

Mine would have to be a couple of years ago when I was seeing this lovely lady (memories) ,was  driving 20 miles every night after work back to her place,in Leicestershire,in winter,through this one stretch of unlit British countryside! Absolute terrible! 90 degrees bends,up,down,hump bridges,you name it,it had everything! Horrible! Even put the car in a ditch one night,got helped out the by the police! And I dont even drive fast! Just one of those roads you cant learn no matter how hard you try! 

The girl dumped me after a couple months,I was secretly so relieved it ...

What will your next car be?

Simple enough. I'll start off. After 8 years of driving a 1989 POS Mitsubishi Lancer inherited from my family i am ready to move on. (Yaay!) I looked at everything from hot hatches to used TVRs but what i really really wanted was something RWD with not too much cc's to ease the grueling registration tax. When i finally listened to logic and decided against a T350 (where the hell would i service it here and they're not exactly suited for the semi-saharan heat we have during the summer) i started to look at used Elises.
