Spotted for the first time

Spotted three new/recent releases for the first time today whilst out and about,Golf VI,Scirocco,Ibiza

The Golf (silver) was ok,not great,still very desirable but....it just DID NOT look like a new car and thats dissapointing! It looked more like something that should have been released 2 or 3 years ago,and I blame it on those rear lights straight off the Touareg,not very original....I think this new Golf will look old and dated very quick

Now for the Scirocco (white) and.........WOW! For anyone who has not seen it yet, it looks so much better in the metal than it does in the pictures,very low,very sporty,very exciting!!!!! It deserves as much sucess as the ...

Alfa Romeo 149

I just read a small article in Evo magazines website abou the successor of the 147.

They have spy shots of a 5 door test mule which they say is based on the Fiat Bravo platform and will only be a 5 door!

I for one completely dissagree! I thought the 3 door 147 (pre-facelift) was the most elegant and beatiful car of its caterogy and it just recently started showing its age. I really think they should do a 3 door one! A 5 door GTA with almost the same size as the outgoing 156 doesnt sound so ...

This weeks so called hot news is diesel sports car

I have heard rumours that audi will offer a diesel in the R8 ( makes sense as they race diesels, good marketing )

I have also heard that BMW are going to put their diesel in their 6 thing, and Jaguar are going to put their new diesel in the XK.

Will mercedes be next ? How long before one of the factory tuners ( A.M.G or M-sport ) bring out an ubber hot oil burner ?

Also heard that AMG is running tests on a twin turbo version of their 63 engine!  ...

New Vauxhall????

Having just read the piece in CAR February about the Vectra replacement, and noting the fuss they're making about the new 'Insignia' name, I can't help thinking that the problem name is at the other end of the bootlid. To me, the Vauxhall brand name in the UK has absolutely no 'street-cred' at all. It says either "My fleet manager made me do it" or "Hey, a year-old car for half price!"
Wouldn't GM be better off consigning the Vauxhall brand to the waste bin and start using the Opel brand in the UK? I might buy an Opel, I wouldn't ...

Cant wait to see

What Gordon Murray has come up with seeing as he reckons his new one is gonna be completely different apparently.Apart from that i'm looking forward to the new scirrocco.:tongue:
