I believe that there is far too much F1 coverage, with reporrers beyond number hanging on he slightest detail. BBC tv had it about right in the days of Walker abd Hunt doing their 40 minute summary on a Sunday night back in the 80s. I recreate this by DVRing the race, then reading through the BBC report onlne which usually tells what laps the notable things happened on, and I then fast forward through my recording and just watch those sequences, while trying not to listen to the awful commentators on SpeedTV. Don't get me wrong, I love F1 and Monaco, and even like most of the drivers these days, I just can't stand to watch them for very long - for sure, it's just too boring.
I have to agree about the saturation coverage. 5 hours of track time across 3 practice sessions and qualifying on Friday and Saturday. Then a pre-race show (an hour? 90 minutes? We don't get the pre-race show here), then the full race (2hrs), then post-race interviews and analysis for another hour or two. Plus the websites (broadcasters, F1 offcial site, teams, magazines, newspapers, enthusiast blogs, forums), plus the social networking 'content' on twitter, facebook and youtube. If you had the Sky F1 channel I'm assuming they'd fill the weekend with even more coverage.
I'd be interesting in reading what you like about Monaco. Even if it means piling more commentary on top of the F1 pile...
