Rather than quality fatigue I would call this 'journalist fatigue'. But you just can't blame Audi for being consistent.

It isn't quality fatigue insomuch as boring fatigue. The cars may drive differently but no one truly can say that an Audi can match the tactile experience the equivilent BMW can in the same category. Audi has become Europe's Lexus; bland styling, blancmange driving characteristics but with built-in quality and interiors. Psychologically it is the way to go to make money as my dad always said, "You drive the car on the inside" so that is what you want people to remember. That muttering rotters enforce this nearly everyday with Pravda-like zeal is more worrisome.

Yes, Audi's don't drive to same precision as BMW's but they are engaging enough for everyday driving. Afterall, how many will take to a racetrack on a weekly basis?

Audi sort of remind me of Ford UK circa late 1970s. Everyone seems to hate them, yet everyone seems to be buying them. The waiting list for the Q3 eclipses even that of the Evoque. Its the British disease. Success is something to discourage at all costs!

It's just fatigue in general with the bewildering amount of cars the German makers are foisting on the buying public. Where once you sit up with interest at a new Audi, BMW or MB now you just glaze over unless its a R8, i8 or SLS.
@rickerby - longer waiting list for Q3 than Evoque? Are you sure?? Sorry to doubt you but I find that really hard to believe.

So your everyday driving consists of high speed cornering, hard braking and driving like you're in Le Mans? Is that the kind of driving you do?
I say "well", because yes I admit that I go around corners above the posted limits (5 - 10 over) but at those speeds Audi's are ok. If I were to go to the track on a regular basis, I'd definitely want something more engaging. But just driving to and from work, in traffic or just above the speed limits. IMO Audi's would be ok.
It's great that we can read what critics say about Audi's as they test the cars at their limits. But how many of us actually drop the clutch at 6K rpms from a stop light?
