GTRSLNGR is In the Building

Well now . Its been quite awhile . Much has changed as well as more may still . But ... its good to be back ( I hope )

First off let me express my apologies to any and all who's toes I may of stepped on , insulted , falsely accused etc . Not to make excuses ... but the previosu three years were an abject Hell . My wife and I fighting tooth and nail to maitain the quality and level of care her ill mom needed and wanted because other members of her family wanted the money . To say the least it was a WAR . And again ... not to make excuses but when I'm that deep into conflict i have the unfortunate habit of letting it leak out into my day to day life . So again . I hope y'all will accept my apologies and carry on ( PS; the wife's mom passed  March of  last year : Trust is settled : Legalities done with . War is over )

Second - Whats new ? A new car in the garage for starters . I traded the MINI for a brandy spankin new 2011  Mercedes Benz GLK350 4Matic . White w/AMG package . Why ? The 56 year old back to put it in a nut shell . We love the car . Named it " Franz " ( after F Klammer the skier ) We call it our Goldilocks car . Cause its just right in every respect

Also , on my current opnions about the US Automotive Industry . Suffice it to say after all the money we Tax Payers have sunk into them and how little ( nothing actually ) we've gotten in return , my opinion is in the Toilet about them all . You won't be seeing/reading any defence of the ( not so ) Big Three coming out of me anytime soon

As to the politics here ? My opinion is even lower on that subject . I've not registered to Vote .... can't wait for the elections to be done with and would Appreciate everyone leaving that subject off the table if you would .

Last . Some new things may be in the works , music wise and we may be moving back to glorious Colorado . We've had enough of South of the Mason Dixon Line , so our fingers are crossed

Anyway thats enough for now . To those who can forgive . Thank you . To those who cannot . I understand and hope you will down the road .

Cheers / Ciao and Rock On

As well as Mrs gtrslngr getting an brand new piano . A Steinway 1098 . Not nearly as ' Grand ' as Trocadero's mind you , but a mighty fine piano never the less

Good to have you back, but less angry? I mean, seriously?

Nothing much has changed here, all that's missing is our man in Russia who predictably fell foul of forum rules...

The guitar is very pretty, not so sure about the car but it's growing on me...

@ Sam the Eagle - Suffice it to say my stress and anger level are both about 85% less than last we .... errrr....... engaged .

Seriously that three years had a profound effect and its taken this long to get over it  .I have been checking in from time to time and figured robinstp must of gotten zapped . Things do seem a bit ... err .... slow here though of late . No worries I've no intentions of raising the conflict level , but I can at least contribute some news etc to get things going .

Le Tour - Oh what a cycle racing season this has been mon ami . That new Italian kid taking Cavendish to school at the Giro , Sagan stomping everyone in sight , Hejydal winning the Giro ... oh my oh my . But who to cheer on at Le Tour ? Andy's out ( and never looked good all season ) Frank doesn't stand a chance - Wiggins I just can't get behind ( seriously ... the guy never smiles making Kimi Raikonen look down right emotive in comparison ) Nobody from the US is ready .... so who to cheer for ? Think we'll most likely just enjoy the race and take whatever comes

F1 - Even F1 has gone up a notch this year . Oh a couple of the lousy Tilke tracks proved boring ... but jeeze .... what a thoroughly decent season so far .

As to the GLK ? It was all about the drive - lack of blind spots - power - quality of ride - interior comfort - size ( smaller footprint than a C-class ) - the price  etc ..... than the looks . Don't get me wrong .... we love the looks as well  - but it was everything else that sold us on the car . FYI thats a Moshe Safdie design I took Franz's photo in front of .

Nice to have you back gtrslngr- I wondered what you had said that would have had you off the site.

Sorry to hear about your problems, happy for you that everything has come back OK now. A gtrslngr with the same enthusiasm but less erraticism? Seems ideal! A question on the political side though- why aren't you registering? It is compulsory in Australia and I think it is one of the best ideas that we have.

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

I think you're right and there is a lack of natural leaders, those one looks forward to seeing race and take risks and attack as soon as they see an opportunity to make the difference over their rivals.

The Schlecks and Evans lack the spark and the charisma, and they disappoint more often than not.

And I see what you mean about Wiggins, but the guy seems sound. He's peaked just at the right moment and he has the strongest team around him, so he will be the man to beat. Let's just hope that if he ends up winning the overall classification he'll relax a bit and start showing a more interesting side of his personality.

As for stage wins and general entertainment, all those you mentioned plus a handful of French riders (hopefully) and Spaniards.

Hell is other people.
