Which cars do you suggest?

Hello, I'm currently relocating from US to Europe and (for the first timein my life) without possession of any car... Suggestions for my 2 car fleet are welcome.

The cars we had in US were a Volvo XC90 and a Saab 9-3 convertible.

After the birth of twins last January it was clear that a "less than 5 seats" like the Saab is not a option...

Currently the "home" discussion is pending to:

Mercedes E250 station - space and confort and a

UsedVolvo XC90 - safety, space and 7 seats... But this choice does not make much sense to me.

Your suggestions, PLEASE...

Well in the menatime I was able to convince the wife on more regular "CAR" readers options:

- The wagon will be a new BMW 520d Sport

- Her SUV (based on your June magazine issue) will probably be a used Porsche Cayenne or used Land Rover Discovery... The 5 or 7 seats and more road or off-road ability is still under discussion.

The XC90 is now the 3rd option... uff....

No arguments on Discovery versus Cayenne?

- Diesel versus Gasoline?

- 5 versus 7 seats?

- Autobahn versus the hills?

We are still very divided...

True CAR lovers input, PLEASE...

Some very good choices there! Discovery vs Cayenne? The Cayenne in my opinion! Should be more reliable than the Disco + might depreciate less. As for diesel vs petrol, well, its all down to how many miles you plan to do but i think a diesel will always be easier to resell.

-Focus RS,Megane RS,you gotta love 'em-

Well, the wife won and is neither cayenne or discovery (one great to enjoy the Autobahn, the other to enjoy the winter and potential off-road). It is again a Volvo XC90 but this time a Diesel and 4WD...

She convinced me with the fact that it is already difficult to re-adapt to Europe and the congested and not very large roads, without needing to adapt also to a new car...

So, BMW 5 touring and Volvo XC90 it is... I now just need to convince her on the need also of a toy, like a Boxster or classic 911 (a 964 would go great...)

Hey,

What don't you try DC Avanti, anew sports car which also comes in very low price range  than BMW 5 and Volvo XC90. DC Avanti has style as well as good in performance. Have a look over the car :
