As CAR has not published anything after 2 days on the death of Sergio Pininafarina, I would like to remember him. Read my post under "Heroes and Villains".
Is the CAR staff on a holiday?

'mobster,
CAR may be on holiday, but the CAR forum certainly isn't. I posted a brief obituary yesterday, which you could've found here.

Same happened when Ferdinand 'Butzi' Porsche died recently.
You should know that Car online is obviously not equipped to deal with news as it comes i.e. in near real time, which they should probably have thought about before they started their 'news watch'.
I personally blame Bauer for not taking Car online seriously and resourcing it properly.

What is there to take seriously? Would you pay for the resource that they offer? I know I wouldn't. I was reading about CAR's history last night and I realised that CAR Online is a victim of its own smart-arse history in print. It has attracted all of us who have an irreverant streak (you're pretty typical Sam) and tend to be sardonic- a hard audience to sell to mon frère.
Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

I would (and do) pay for quality, yes. For example a decent app with good articles to read on the tube when I'm not cycling to work would get my vote, and my money - to replace my subscription which I keep forgetting to cancel. The website should be able to pay for itself, through ads. Car has after all a broad audience (not just made of sarcastic b*st*rds like me) which it isn't really cashing on outside print.
