Hello,
I'm not that bright when it comes to things car related, my poor old dad or brother normally have to put up with my questions.
But i was hoping some one could help me please, i am in a bit of a dilema. Last year i bought myself a Seat Ibiza 1.9 Tdi (Which i loveee!!) but me being me i didnt realise that my log book never came in the post. Its now that time of the year to re-tax, ive spoke to the DVLA on the phone and they have said I have to delcare my car off the road for 6 weeks until i recieve my new log book as the car was never registered in my name :( Is there any way that i can speed up the process of sorting this out?
Please help me! :)
Thanks
Chloe

Hi Chloe,
In my experience the DVLA quote very lengthy times, but consider these times the worst case scenario (which is unlikely)
For illustration I too was quoted the same 6 week timescale for retaining a private plate off a vehicle, and swapping the log book and tax disc to the new allocated reg. However, 10 days later said tax disc and logbook arrived through my letterbox.
As for shortcuts or complaining, no chance. They are a law unto themselves. Even visiting the local DVLA office won't change anything.
Hope that assists.

They say that a dog is mans best friend. This simple experiment proves this. Lock your missus and your dog in the boot of your car. Return to let them out after an hour and see which one is most pleased to see you....
