@seant The upcoming James Cameron remake of The Love Bug might play to the director's strengths but it isn't my idea of a good time..
I remembered that Japanese commercial vehicle specialists Isuzu used to sell cars, but it could be possible that someone else has remembered the Piazza and the Impulse previously. Maybe we need a 'forgotten cars of the past 49 pages' thread to keep track of them?

I love the Isuzu Piazza and got close to buying one a couple of times. A friend and fellow Gamma Coupe owner has two of them! (Piazzas that is....)
One silly thing I liked about the Piazza was a cigarette lighter in each of the front door handles next to the ashtrays.

All this talk of "old and forgotten cars" made me get to the office in the Gamma Coupe today
At least it was one "old and forgotten car" that got to be seen on the roads of North London today
Photos below were taken in the office car park today

Been thinking a while about this - as an ex rally driver of course the fabulous Mitsubishi Starion wasnt built from good steel but wow what a car at the time - and one of the greatest hoots to drive in Group A trim as per image
Another all time favourite never made in sufficient quantity as it arrived at a time of petrol shartages and its 3,3L engines did sup at a fair rate - but what a design and since when the same company has lost all its track and whilst giving us great rally cars - nothing ever matched the Greatest Scoobie of all time the SVX
And there once was a FRIDGE that I liked and still like - I see plenty here all in RHD form - and they were the fore-runner of the Camry and even some Lexus models - Toyota SOLARA which didnt reach many shores sadly.
time to move over

From 2001 to 2005 this car was sold as a Toyota or as a Lexus. CAR magazine thought it was wonderful when it was in the studio for a photos shoot. The story was how the designers were sent out to fabulous places to study the lifestyles of the rich and gorgeous. Then they had to translate this into a car expressly for their wants. Apparently they all wanted a car with tiny rear seats with no legroom at all. That said, it is is rather lavishly finished and well surfaced car which was built to a really high standard. To judge from CAR´s glowing introduction you´d imagine it was going to be a smash success. But when it came time to drive it, the cult of handling had bitten and the car was marked down for being "too soft". But it did what is said on the tin: it delivered a comfortable ride with fine performance from its V8. For me it was odd to hear people compare its appearance to the Audi TT. Some people saw a similarity. I didn´t.
Now forgotten...
