Here it is, a side thread from our forgotten cars of the last 35 years. Those that were forgotten for a good reason, or maybe should quickly be forgotten: Our starter for ten was....
"What about a thread called forgettable cars? It would include cars which no-one will mourn, which sold moderately well enough not to be initially or ever rare and which have no apparent technical or stylistic merit. Case number one: Suzuki Baleno (estate)."
I'd nominate the Ford Cortina Mark 5, as a fine candidate. We seem to have completely passed over all reference to the Cortina in all except its Lotus iterations in thousands of posts. The Vauxhaul Cavalier hasn't fared much better. Does this tell us something?
Have fun with this one!
Her butt looks like a couple of badly parked VW Beetles in those slacks

A very good candidate igor, I actually had to look it up too see which one it was!
Locally we could get that with a 4.2L inline six, handled awfully if I remember correctly, but went well in a straight line.
A universally forgotten car from one of my favoured marques: the Fiat Croma. Either version ironically.
Oooh shiny!

Did you know the Renault 4 had a shorter wheelbase on the left hand-side of the car (2,400 mm) compared with 2,438 mm on the right.
The original 24 bhp 747cc four cylinder was designed with over sized cylinder liners this meant they could easily progressively increase the size to 1,108cc in 1978.
Pretty clever for a 1961 design.
Simplify and add lightness.

The MK1 Opel/Vauxhall Corsa/Nova springs to mind,a very good car back in its days (not ahead of its competitors by any means though)...Sold in very large numbers but rarely gets mentionned

What about the current Lotus Europa? Has it been released yet?

How about old SEAT's?
Original Ibiza & Toledo, when did you last see one?
Probably others, but have forgotten!

They say that a dog is mans best friend. This simple experiment proves this. Lock your missus and your dog in the boot of your car. Return to let them out after an hour and see which one is most pleased to see you....
I think I saw it at the Detroit show, didn't they sell it* to those successful Chrysler chappies to turn into a heavier, slower Tesla hardtop? It's orange, just in case you're looking out for it.
*They have only built one haven't they?
Does that make it the new Monte Carlo then?

The appearance of the first Seat Ibiza as a forgettable car is apposite. I was racking my brain to think of something this morning and this name popped up. The engine management was by Porsche and it said so in the engine bay.
Can I offer the Peugeot 309 as the forgettable car-du-jour? And perhaps the Austin Montego. The shame with the Montego and Mæstro was that they were a well-packaged design.
Quite possibly the Honda Ballade? Also incredibly forgettable.
