RE: Ferrari 458 Italia (2009) CAR review

Tried to get behind the wheel of an Elise. Did do with great effort. Thoroughly enjoyed my track day. Trying to get proved almost impossible - legs straight, caught at a precarious angle between seat edge and steering wheel, all I could do was fall backwards and call for assistance. I stare in wonderment at those men who use them as everyday transport, to and from the office.
Gone are the days when, to get a design past the basic hurdle of acceptance by company management, it had to have good all round vision, and access and egress. All that has been jettisoned for cars the size of Burago models, with little or no rear vision, plus side vision obscured by thick A pillars. Much as I admire Lotus's philosophy of lightness - it leads the way - and their engineering gifts with suspension geometry, I am bound to add that any car conceived the size of a a go-kart is bound to nip around tight corners fantasically well, and accelerate swiftly propelled by a strong elastic band. No, an Elise is not for me. Sorry.
I'll take a Ferarri, preferably of old, any day, and all the calls of "tosser" rather than a butch biscuit tin.
