I'm completely there with Ga's first post about cleaning cars. I get half way through and just want to get in and drive.whilst i did give the interior of our Multipla a quick blast out, three weeks later and it still needs the same wash it needed when i bought it.

There is another thing that absolutely boils my blood currently and actually causes me to shout  very loudly at the windscreen. We have, in every part of London and the south, many sets of temporary traffic lights for various gas/water main repairs and also for repairing the roads from last years winter. Increasingly, people have absolutely no urgency on moving away on the green light, so often with the green on for a full five  plus seconds before their handbrake even comes off. If its not older drivers day dreaming, its almost certainly i-phone muppets twittering. So many times lately i've been sat in a que and the cars up ahead have been so slow to move off, i've not actually moved before the light has gone back to red

No, I actually enjoy washing a car (but I hate the wheels). I do it early in the morning on a Summer's weekend before it gets too hot.

I'm with Sam th Eagle- other people. Most people I have decided are idiots, and this is proven on the road. We are coralling our species towards an inevitable decline by protecting the mentally deranged and incompetent from themselves and then allowing them to breed. No-where better is this in evidence than on the road. As Reg says, the moronic text and twitterers who try and drive while doing so are proof that we are doing the wrong thing. These type of drivers (absolutely rife in the USA), would struggle to complete a complete sentence without an expletive, pause, umm or lol, yet think they can navigate other road users, directions, obstacles and pedestrians while texting how much they are looking forward to hvg sum fun 2nght. They will check their facebook status 1000 times while driving before even considering the need just to have a quick look around the car before setting off, just to make sure there is air in the tyres and nothing is falling off. Oh, and those funny lights on the dash that flash while I'm texting, while they are very distracting and what normal person would know that they were warning lights? Stupid car, should have sent me an SMS to tell me something was wrong, would have been a lot easier.

Idiots- the reason why your insurance costs so much (and why Toyotas are so popular).

Ha,ha,ha,ha,ha.

OK, here is just a small selection. I hadn’t realised there was so much hidden resentment inside me. Thank you for letting me share ga41!

• Dangling air freshners - exactly what are they hiding?
• Tissue boxes on dashboard - just use the back of your hand
• Silver cars - and I’ve had a few
• Signs telling me you have a Little Princess on board
• Privacy glass - are you that ugly?
• Ultra low profile tyres - especially on 4x4s
• Driving faster than me
• Driving slower than me
• Smoking and driving - except for Setright and Bertandnairobi (and Sam the Eagle), it can’t be done safely
• People who can afford a £60K Merc, but not a hands free.
• Stretch limos and the people who inhabit them
• Swinging out to the right before turning left (that’s in the UK) - unless you work for Eddie Stobart
• British Motorways - especially, of course, the M25
• Overtaking on the inside of a motorway - I bet you cheated in exams too
• Overtaking then braking for speed cameras
• Slowing for speed bumps - get an old Citroen
• ‘Traffic Calming’ chicanes - lining up two vehicles for a full frontal collision, such a clever idea
• ‘Traffic Calming’ chicanes - actually I love them but, in my case, they’re not doing what they’re supposed to
• Straddling white lines and/or drifting between lanes
• Xenon headlamps - such a harsh and aggressive light
• Daytime running lights - especially LED fairy lamps
• People whose icy weather preparation involves scraping a 10cm square section of ice off their windscreen with a credit card
• Drivers who keep the radio on in their cars when I’m a passenger - is my conversation that boring?
• Drivers turning their heads to talk to me when I'm a passenger - shut up and listen to the radio!
• Car valet places waxing your steering wheel
• Diesel - just put more R&D into EV’s, petrol engines, turbines, rubber bands, anything!
• Car badges - if I need to know, I’ll ask
• Storage compartments that have odd, unrectangular shapes
• Steering wheels with flat bottoms
• Steering wheels with wooden inserts
• Bad visibility - you see it everywhere

that's a rather comprehensive list seant. I agree with most of it, except the bit about smoking and driving.

StE. Comprehensive? That was just off the top of my head - I've only just scraped the surface. As regards the smoking thing, I hope we can compromise by me putting you with Setright and Bertandnairobi as the exceptions that prove the rule.

thank you. In keeping with the spirit of your post I feel obliged to concede that smoking while driving requires extra care and a level of awareness and anticipation which is beyond the capability of the majority of drivers.

I'm not saying that I am perfect, but I am aware of my limitations and try to adjust my driving accordingly.

seant;

So what you're really saying in that  rather drawn out list is that you wan the entire road to yourself , from point A to point B with only your car , your interior and your driving habits on the pavement . Hmmn .

Seems to me what you need is a private Island all to yourself , with just you , the SM , and the good lady by your side

Gtrslngr. Far fromit. Without all the above to moan about, driving would be soporific!
