From that Corvette concept I could see the later Camaro in the rear lamp treatment

I think these have been done before but their is a definite line between the SZ to the Sud Sprint to the CRX

Barris brilliance or Harley's heroics?
The XJ40 looks a little like pininfarina's concept too.

Yes, the car you pictured does look like an XJ220. It is the 1990 Chevrolet CERV-III. Earlier, in 1986, Chevrolet had produced a concept called the Corvette Indy which is similar to the CERV-III, and I had compared that to the XJ220. So we're thinking alike as is often the case. Here's a picture of the backs of the CERV-III and Indy (the Indy is in red - at one time it was in silver). These cars did influence the 1992 Camaro as you say. What strikes me now is that the Indy could well have influenced the Acura NSX!!!

The car in the back of your picture has an unusual grille and reminds me of the MGA - which I was also thinking of yesterday in conjunction with the Jaguar C-Type. There were a ton of these little roadsters and spyders in the 50s. As you once pointed out, the Ferrari 166 was probably the inspiration for all of them.

Well spotted on the NSX. I have a terrible memory and this thread is too long to make sure that things haven't been mentioned before, so sorry for that AR.
I was reading a little article on Harley Earl and his camouflage with GM during the war and they had a photo of his wonderful LeSabre concept. To me those upswept front bumpers and wraparound screen looked like the Aurelia B24
The contemporary Holdens looked much like the Chevys of the time
The Chrysler Phaeton presaged the unfortunate Thesis's front end for me. The Thesis is such an awkward thing- like a cross-eyed portly parrot.
