So it's another facelift for the Jag and theres once again the same thing that annoys me on both and to be fair the only thing. Them damn side airvents and the way they are pinched upwards to make an arward smile to an otherwise very pretty car. Below is my photoshop(the joys of the 'shop and its many features). A very subtle change, but I'm welcome to your thoughts.

Hi Joe,
What did you do? I can't see the difference mate, sorry.
Oooh shiny!
The chromed air vents, pulled the top corner down slightly, only very small, wish you could flick between much quicker.
OK I see it now. I understand what you mean, and these subtle aesthetic details are no doubt why you are studying automotive design, but it is too subtle a change for the blunt instrument Batty. That said at your age I would have no doubt noticed and wanted it modified as well.
I quite like the re-style, it improves upon the delicious original but I simply loathe the sparkly LEDs. They are a hideous blight that is spreading across the industry and much like genital jewellery, one wonders why anyone feels the need to make something functional so unnecessarily shiny.

It took me a long time to spot the difference too. If you had not mentioned anything, I don't think I would have found fault in the official version - but now that you have pointed it out - yes you might be right. You might want to take a look at how your design works from the side and other angles. But really, the XK is such a wonderful car, I think one's eye tends to look towards the whole package and not get too caught up in specific details. Most cars don't have that overall beauty, proportion and distinctiveness, so then designers have to resort to surface entertainment and LED pyrotechnics to dazzle us with their brilliance......

Joe,
Seeing as you've got your pencils out (so to speak...!) how about applying your critical faculties to the taillight treatment of the revised XF. Personally I think they've made a bit of a mess.
What say you?
Yes I saw the back and though the same. They've done what they did with the original Bangle era 7 series and filled in the little notch to make it more 'normal'. I too personally like the original. I woudn't need to get my pencils out(or in the case above the Liquify tool on Photoshop) I would just show you the original. :)
I don't know what was wrong with the original XK, here I've included all 3(yes 3!!!!) generations and I know which one is the better. The simple one with no cluttered chrome airvents which look slightly arkward and give it(to me) a weird smile. I admit it's only a very small thing, but I find it slightly off putting.
I knew most people wouldn't notice it much, but it is all about the little details. But after all, design is a very subjective personal thing.
