Ah, I see. I'd completely missed the dot at the top and therefore the fact that it is the same size and colour, which is hard to tell with the different background and lack of brackets...

Hi Sam, the (.) in the cover text had me baffled for a while also. I believe it refers to the blue dot above the young couple, indicating the 'rest of us' described in the text. It probably would've been less confusing if an asterisk or more distinctive symbol was used instead.

One of my favourity covers. LJKS looking away from the photographer as if to let the menacing, shark-like face of the Miura do the talking, while in the background a young couple discuss the relative merits of a DAF (!) and a Vauxhall (I think it's a Vauxhall), blissfully ignorant of the nearby danger... Completely surreal, as is the caption. Any idea what (.) is supposed to mean? I actually took this issue of Car with me on holidays this year only to realise that the piece on the Miura was a two-part article with the second part published the following month... I wasn't best pleased.
