Of course, Rover was on something of a roll at the time. The 200 had been well received (and sold well, as far as I remember) and Car had scooped this coupe a fair bit, predicting turbo power and other mouth-watering details. And then you drove it, and damned it with this cover. I remember the surprise as I picked it up from the newsagent... The coupe is going to be good, right? Nope, apparently not, and you told us why inside. I would love the magazine to do something this direct again.
