It's the first Cadillac offered with a diesel engine. Well if you discount the disastrously unreliable 5.7-litre Seville diesels of the late 70's.
It rides and handles just like a European car, albeit a very average one, and it's got a decent interior that’s far more suited to European tastes. The seats aren't covered in red velour at all.

RE: Cadillac BLS 1.9D CAR review
I sell these cars but before I did I had no idea it even existed. I'd never seen one on the road and in all honesty I still haven't. However thats a good thing! Unless you have the bank balance the size of a small country the opportunity to get something that truly drives well, has a luxurious and highly spec'd interior as standard and isn't parked in every driveway or car park in Britain is virtually impossible. Until now! I agree the BMW 3 series' drive is sharper and more responsive, even if a little stiffer but try buying a new one with heated leather interior, sat nav, electric folding mirrors, BOSE 5.1 Surround... as standard. In fact forget Standard... try for less than £25,000. It's impossible! And don't even get me started on Audi A4s, drive one of them and then come and see me, we'll have a lot to talk about. What's more satisfying though is telling people you own a Cadillac. Everyone wants to see it and the edgy, original styling means everybody loves it. The level of spec means people think it's worth thousands more than it actually is. Ask them how much they think you paid and they'll respond between £25,000 and £35,000. And when you go out you'll be one of the only ones driving it. There are more Blue Bentley GTs on the roads of Britain than your Caddy! Now how Exclusive is that!?
