Yes, but not as much as before. Lamborghini has cut the CO2 emissions from a pretty disgraceful 400g/km to 327g/km thanks to the new engine, a 20kg reduction in kerb weight and other changes including a new Pirelli P Zero tyre that offers as much stiction as before but less rolling resistance up to 50mph. The company is aiming for a 40 percent reduction in emissions over the next couple of years. And while a lower CO2 figure won’t be a reason for many people to buy a supercar it’s certainly a reason to feel slightly less guilty about doing so.
The E-gear paddleshift gearbox has been redesigned so that gearchanges are now down from 200 to 120ms and there’s a new control arm at the back to anchor the rear suspension under extreme loads.
The rest of the changes are mostly cosmetic: the lights are new front and rear, there are some metal covers for the getting elderly Audi switchgear on the dash and there’s that Enzo front bumper which is actually inspired by the hi-tech Lamborghini Reventon’s. It's more than cosmetic because it does actually contribute to a 31 percent improvement in downforce.

I love the little details in the car. Like the back lights, how they look so perfect. Or the shape of the car, like a hole in a cave. What a beauty.

Jaf. Reviewed i have read state the R8 gearbox is based on the Gallardos' but most say the R8's is far superior. Interestingly though, most reviews of both cars say the manual gearbox is the best option.

Lovely car, but pity about the e-gear. Have just tested an R8 and was not too impressed with that single-clutch item. The Audi rep tried to tell me that Audi's e-gear is identical to both the Gallardo's and the Modena's. Does anyone know for sure if he's right? For my money, the twin-clutch box in the TT is superior. Incidentally, speaking of price, in Tokyo one can buy last year's demo Gallardo with almost no kilometres on the clock for the same price as a new R8. I think I know which one I would choose!

Shhhh...it's not warming up any more, that's why it's now called "Climate Change". Anyway, another nice Lambo, but I feel Audi has too much of a calming influence on the designs these days - it would be nice to see something with the same effectg as the Countach, a "blimey, what the hell is that?" factor.
