CAR reader Ronan Glon sent in these spy photos of the new 2012 BMW 3-series and 2013 Mercedes CLC. We're not sure where Ronan lives, but judging by these photos it may be in South Africa or America - both warm-weather climates where the Germans undertake durability testing. BMW 3-series: the background Munich has launched the 1-series first, but the ...

This is the new Mercedes CLC, a ‘four-door coupe’ that will go on sale in 2013. Spawned from the new Mercedes A- and B-class – due in 2012 and 2011 respectively – it’s best to think of the new CLC as a shrunken CLS. And just as Mercedes launched its CLS a whole generation ahead of Audi and BMW (the ...

Previously the C-class Sports Coupe, now the Mercedes-Benz CLC, this is the junior coupe in the three-pointed star’s line-up. Some 1100 modifications underline the change to the bootbadge. But is the CLC really anything more than a pretty new face? If it is, in fact, even that… Pretty new face? Looks like someone’s beaten the Merc CLC with an ugly tree ...

This is Mercedes’ new CLC, only it's not quite so new. Underneath it’s really the old Sports Coupe with a nose from the C-class grafted on to give it more modern engines and help it pass the latest crash regulations. In fact, the new CLC has exactly the same wheelbase (2715mm) as the old Sports Coupe, and the same size boot. ...

Looking squat, mean and aggressive (the car, not the model), this is the new Mercedes CLC. And although the CLC is based on the current C-class-derived Sports Coupe, Merc hopes that the 1100 new or revised components will make the car a serious challenger to the BMW 1-series coupe. It certainly looks slicker than the current car, and with C-class ...
