Published: 21 November 2012 Updated: 26 January 2015

The December 2012 issue of CAR magazine is on sale now – and we’ve also launched the third edition of the CAR magazine app, which is now fully Retina compatible.

It’s a beautiful, interactive version of CAR magazine, brought to life with extra photos, videos, new stories and animated layouts. Thousands of you are increasingly consuming CAR magazine in this handy new format.

Go to Apple Newsstand or iTunes and search for ‘CAR magazine app’ now. There’s a free-to-download sampler of the December issue available in both standard and high definition to give you a taste for what the new iPad edition is like.

CAR magazine app: now Retina-ready for iPad3 and 4

After a few teething problems with HD versions of the app, we’ve now launched the full version with the December 2012 issue. What does it mean? Owners of the iPad 3 and 4 with Retina screens will enjoy all of the sparkling photos and words CAR’s famous for – in glorious high definition.

We’ve stuffed loads of new pictures and words in the iPad edition of CAR magazine. Here’s what’s new in the app this month:

• Exclusive video of our Range Rover group test
• Extra photos we couldn’t squeeze in the mag
• New stories – including motoring toys and reader stories
• Watch the film of our sports car of the year test
• New and improved digital GBU data section
• All now in glorious HD for Retina displays

I’m a subscriber. How can I get the new CAR magazine app?

Print subscribers will soon be able to enjoy a joint print-digital subscription package which will offer CAR magazine on both platforms for a small premium. We’ll be in touch when we’re ready to launch this new service.

In the meantime, check out the CAR magazine app in Apple’s Newsstand or iTunes. There’s a choice of subs deals so you can pick the quickest, cheapest way to enjoy CAR magazine every month – no matter where you are in the world.
