Behind the scenes of CAR’s adventure in Argentina

Published: 12 March 2010 Updated: 26 January 2015

In the new April 2010 issue of CAR – out next Wednesday – there are some very special stories. Top of the list is a world exclusive group test (which we can’t tell you any more about just yet), and our European editor Georg Kacher has the full inside story on Porsche’s 918 Spyder from the men that made it happen.

We’ve also sent Ben Oliver off to Patagonia, the 1200-mile stretch of Argentina south of the 40th parallel; it’s the wildest corner of the South American country, but also the only place outside of Wales that speaks Welsh. And it’s here than Ben took Volkswagen’s new pick-up truck, the Amarok, up into the wilderness for a proper adventure.

There are ten pages dedicated to the story in the new April 2010 issue of CAR, but the pictures taken were so good that it seemed a shame to let them go un-used. So now you, the CAR Online reader, gets an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at our VW Amarok adventure. If the photos we didn’t use are this good, just imagine what’s made the cut.

Our full digital preview of the April 2010 issue of CAR will be online next week so come back then, but in the meantime have a flick through Stuart Collins’ stunning photography.
