Kia Soul: more details and photos

I have a friend who work for Kia, he bought one of these home with him for me to look at and drive. Don't be fooled by the hype its a big car way bigger than a Mini, Fiat 500 or many other city cars. It also has no luggage space, I tried to put a large suit case in and couldn't (Note not a very large suit case). None of the options e.g. Burner, Diva or Searcher shown on the internet are available. No black alloys, only two steel wheel types 15" & 16" with 175/185 tyres respectively or one type of five spoke 18" alloy with 225's which make the ride quite harsh, 1.6 ltr engines only!! the trim is very thin plastic which feels cheap. Also it's not a cheap car, hear in Germany to have a car that looks anything like the internet photos you will need to pay out 24,000 Euro's which is over £21,000 for a car with over 50% depreciation in the first 12 months! for that sort of money there are better options out there both new and used.

There is a real confidence and definite detail work in that design. I don't especially like the front, but it is interesting. I agree with Houdini, if Toyota especially don't lift their tactility and design, they will lose share to the faster, funkier Koreans; as they should. JB- ask yourself, which is more offensively bland, this or the X3?

"Soul"? Kia Fridge is a better label. In fact my fridge has more soul because it contains some yummy ingredients (picked crab, goats cheese and fresh basil to name three items with more soul). If the Souls interior matches the souless exterior then the personality by-pass will be complete. Who (mis) labels these 4 wheeled shopping trollies?
