Is Lamborghini about to show a four-seater at Paris?

Published: 17 September 2014 Updated: 26 January 2015

Lamborghini is preparing to show a new concept car at the Paris motor show – and it looks very much as if it’ll be the Aventador-based four-seater CAR scooped back in October 2012.

This invitation has been issued to the media, inviting journalists to the Lambo press conference on 2 October.

It’s an outline of a Lamborghini, but it’s tricky to guess exactly what. Is it an all-new Lambo? Possibly. But in profile it looks very similar to the Aventador V12, leading us to believe it may be a derivative…

Lamborghini’s surprise at Paris: a four-seater?

Nothing else is known at this stage, apart from the cryptic invitation: ‘Once perfection is achieved, you can just double it.’

Assuming that’s not power – the Aventador already sports an outrageous 690bhp – we can presumably expect a doubling of something else.

CAR’s Georg Kacher reported in October 2012 that Sant’Agata was ‘also planning an Aventador GT, a more practical, touring kind of Italian V12 supercar.’

Our money would be on the Paris motor show car being this softer GT – with two rear jump seats, a new door concept and, possibly, a stretch in wheelbase.

A four-seater Lambo?

You bet. The Lamborghini would join a small group of recent mid-engined 2+2s. BMW’s i8 has done it and so has the Lotus Evora. But not many squeeze in space for rear seats into a proper supercar.

Stay tuned in the run-up to Paris as we follow all the news and unveilings ahead of the year’s biggest motor show.
