Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S: first photos

To be clear, I am not anti-MQ. I actually think it is a great car. But when I match up your praises with the actual car (I do see one almost on a daily basis) I have to say yes it is great but not as great as your comments suggest. As Brando wrote its flaws are treated as charm. Even its front and rear, though individually beautiful, are out of sync in my opinion......

Given such universal praise is heaped on the Maser by car and non-car people alike, I wonder about Houdini's motives. It also makes me wonder about Houdini's taste in cars. So Houdini, just so we know, if you have £100k to spend and it had to be on a 4-door saloon based purely on how it looks and the prestige it gives off, what would you spend it on? No silly answers please - you know what I mean. It's funny though, isn't it, that the Maser always get's the benefit of the doubt when tested and the kind of thing that would go down as a black mark against the usual suspects is treated as 'charm'. That's the rose tint effect for you. I must admit - I'd overlook all but the most annoying things this car could throw at me!

Houdini says "It looks good but not that good". I beg to differ! The Quattroporte is surely one of the great shapes of our time(or any time). It exudes elegance, sensuality and class. No other 4 door in production comes close... and very few 2 door cars(stylistically I prefer the Quattroporte to any current Ferrari). The subtlety and timelessness of the Maserati leaves the the German panzers looking brash and vulgar. It's like comparing the classical beauty of Monica Bellucci to a peroxide blonde German pornstar. All a matter of taste I suppose.
