Now that's what I call ugly
Reading readers' comments it's always wise to use a little hyperbole filter - people do tend to overreact. So I fitted my hyperbole filter before writing, toning down what I truly think about this car. So here goes. Is there a single 'right' line in this car's shape? I keep staring at the pictures and I can't find one. That reverse angle on the c-pillar side window with a forward bulge in it! That's a detail that passed by even the wilfully perverse American designers of the 50s. A Toledo looks better than this. Truly very horrible indeed, second only (as I mentioned in my GLK Blu-Tak comments) to the stretch Mercedes S-class with a Topolino roof, er I mean the Maybach Laundrette.

Peugeot's stand
What a disappointment. I was expecting a few concept cars from Peugeot. But no. We get 308SW. Which is quite nice I reckon, and not THAT ugly. It's unusual. We've got the 307sw but don't think we'll be changing for the new 308. I was really hoping for a mega concept car! Mind you, Paris promises to be even bigger than Geneva! There's loads of debuts coming in the way of Paris, and hopefully both Peugeot and Citroen will make a louder presence for themselves. Well, it is their home city and they've enormous shops on Champs Elysees each!!!

ugh.
if I could have said it better than goatboy, I would. for the most part, I look longingly at designs in Europe from my poor, deprived Canadian car-market. Peugeot, however, holds no interest for me at all. I can't figure out what they're getting at with their current crop of badly proportioned, big-snouted design, repeated in different sizes through their range. no fluidity or wackiness that i can see in the photos.

Matron, take it away..
Lovely. Three views of Peugeot's latest monstrosity. The view from the front makes it look like a cross between the late Kenneth Williams and a snow plough, which admittedly may come in handy in Alpine ski resorts. This takes my vote for the ugliest new car of the year so far, (by a country mile)- although I feel certain Peugeot's talented designers will manage to trump this debacle on wheels before the year is out. And should they fail in that lofty goal, Mercedes will doubtlessly step into the breach..
