The best Japanese sports car ever

Published: 03 September 2009 Updated: 01 February 2015

Time is running out to vote for your favourite Japanese sports car of all time. As part of CAR Online’s Japanese sports car special this month – and coinciding with our 20 years of legends from the Orient cover story in CAR magazine – we’ve been asking you to name the best Japanese sports cars ever.

At the time of writing, some 15,000 of you have taken part in CAR’s exclusive Japanese poll – but it’s not too late to have your say. Front runners include the Honda S2000 and Mitsubishi Evos, which are neck and neck at the top of the table.

Your vote could help propel other luminaries from the East, including the Mazda MX-5, Honda NSX or Toyota Supra, to top of the pile. All you have to do is click on your favourite car in the list below.

Only one vote is allowed per user. And if you think we’ve missed one off, click ‘Other’ and let us know which forgotten Japanese legend to add in; if there’s a groundswell of opinion, we’ll add in qualifying cars to the list.

CAR will close the poll on Wednesday 16 September 2009, the day the Japan-flavoured October 2009 issue goes off sale. Be sure to come back for the final verdict!
