Volkswagen Scirocco GTS (2012) first offical pictures

Rated 2 out of 52

Ollie Kew, 31 May 2012 15:33

Volkswagen will unveil a special edition Scirocco GTS at the Leipzig motor show next week. The changes are all cosmetic, based on the 2.0-litre TSI model. So, what alterations turn a standard Scirocco into a GTS? For starters, there's the obvious stripe down the Scirocco's middle and the GTS wears a slightly more aggressive body kit. There's a sharper front lip spoiler and ...

Ben Pulman, 28 October 2009 13:15

Volkswagen is launching what it believes is the world’s most eco-friendly one-make race series. But rather than a bunch of electric-powered Up! superminis, the grid will be made up of 220bhp natural gas-guzzling Sciroccos. And just how will these VW Scirocco Cups stake their claim as the most eco-friendly one-make championship in the world? The engine (of course) is key. The ...

VW Scirocco R (2009): first official photos

Tim Pollard, 20 May 2009 00:01

Volkswagen has issued the first official details of the new Scirocco R. We've been scooping it as the anticipated Scirocco R20T – and while our technical information was spot-on, the name has been changed at the last minute we're informed. So it's farewell R20T (and, presumably, R32 and R36 elsewhere in VW's range) and hello R. It seems likely that ...

This is VW's new Scirocco GT24 concept and it's appearing at the Wörthersee Tour alongside the Audi TT and A3 Clubsport Quattros. The Volkswagen Scirocco GT24 concept is a road version of the trio of racecars (pictured bottom far right) that will compete in this weekend’s Nürburgring 24-hour race. ...

Rated 2.5 out of 52.5

Mark Nichol, 03 March 2008 20:00

VW has finally taken the wraps off the new Scirocco, 15 years after killing off the last generation coupe. Due to be officially unveiled at Geneva 2008, the Golf-based Scirocco has a pleasingly similar exterior to the Iroc concept shown at the 2006 Paris Motor Show, although the concept’s space-age interior has, predictably, undergone the full production watering-down. Isn’t the Scirocco just ...
