Ollie Kew, 04 March 2013 07:00

Aston Martin will launch a convertible version of the Vanquish sports car later in 2013, and CAR has scooped the soft-top super-GT testing in the UK. Mechanically identical to the hard-top car we first drove in 2012 (see our video review below) the Vanquish Volante sits on Aston's aluminium Gen4 VH platform, and has a 565bhp 5.9-litre V12 which will power it to a 180mph-plus top speed. ...

Rated 3 out of 53

Tim Pollard, 08 October 2012 09:31

Vauxhall will launch its new Cascada full-size convertible in March 2013, and our artist's impression shows how the cabrio should look ahead of its formal unveiling later this month. Until now, Vauxhall and Opel have only released two teaser images of the Cascada in front of an, ahem, cascading waterfall - showing just the top half of the new car. ...

The Fiat Group's revelation in May 2012 that it would co-develop the next Alfa Romeo Spider alongside the Mazda MX-5 got everyone at CAR, and its digital audience, salivating. Today we can bring you the latest artist's impressions showing how this Japanese-Italian fusion could look on the road. This is perhaps one of the most exciting prospects for years: a ...

Rated 4 out of 54

Ollie Kew, 13 July 2012 11:25

Spied on test in southern France, this is BMW's upcoming 4-series Convertible, curiously exhibiting its tow-car ability. Sent in to CAR by readers Janet Richardson and Tony Gover, the test driver confirmed his mount was a new BMW, but refused to identify the model or allow any glimpses of the interior. Where does the 2014 4-series fit into the BMW ...

Rated 4 out of 54

Ollie Kew, 08 June 2012 10:12

These are the best pictures yet of Vauxhall's soon-to-be-released 2012 soft-top successor to the Astra Twintop. As previously reported by CAR, the new model will be a standalone model in the same vein as the Volkswagen Eos, rather than simply a chopped version of the popular Astra hatchback. What do we know about the new 2012 Vauxhall convertible? For a ...

Jaguar F-type (2012) - more of the cabin scooped

Rated 2.5 out of 52.5

Ollie Kew, 29 May 2012 11:15

CAR's new spy shots provide the clearest views yet of the Jagaur F-type's interior. The good news is it's very faithful to the original C-X16 concept car. What can we deduce from these latest F-Type cabin pictures? Well, the central dashboard stack is seen completely undisguised for the first time, showing marked differences to previous mules which simply contained hacked XJ consoles. The ...

Jaguar F-Type: how to tell if it's V6 or V8

Rated 4 out of 54

Tim Pollard, 18 May 2012 11:15

Anorak corner! Here's how you tell the difference between a V6 and a V8 Jaguar F-type. Our recent spate of F-type spyshots reveal two different exhaust layouts - and this is one of the styling signifiers distinguishing between the bottom-rung and top-end roadsters. This car is one of our first views of the F-type V8, equipped with the same 5.0-litre ...

Jaguar F-type roadster (2013) final prototypes spied

Rated 4 out of 54

Tim Pollard, 14 May 2012 15:04

Jaguar continues to test the new F-type roadster - and this is the first time we've seen the final stage prototypes on the public road in the UK. Until now, we've only used the official hand-out shots of a camouflaged F-type issued by Jaguar itself. But these independent spy photos of the F-type confirm more detail on one of 2013's ...

BMW 2-series cabriolet (2014) revealed

Rated 2.5 out of 52.5

Georg Kacher and Pembroke Tenneson (artist's impression by Christian Schulte), 10 May 2012 09:41

BMW is working on the next 1-series convertible - but it will arrive in 2014 badged as a 2-series. Given the number and variety of separate models coming from BMW, it comes as no surprise that some name-shuffling is necessary. Like Mercedes, Munich is having to rejig its range to accommodate the flurry of new metal, so the next 1-series coupe and convertible ...
