Porsche Boxster (2009): the spyshots

Would the trapezoidal shape of the cold air intake make a difference? If yes, what could it be? It really makes me curious.

Looks like they have cleaned up the design some more. I think it is lovely. Not like the grotesque BMW S3, or the overcluttered Mercedes SLK. You can criticise the 911 for not being up to date. But, the mid-engined Boxster is right up there with the best. Put a decent engine in the Cayman, and you have an R8 beater, without the ridiculous appearance. I sympathise on the MX5. I was planning to buy the Series 3, but found the handling to be bizarre, so I got the Boxster as the only other choice. More car than I need, but a lot of fun on a track day.

I'm with you breza...what is it with 'Car' and your fawning love of Porches - boring! you devoted much of the last issue to this brand on the assumption that your readers drool over them as much as your staff - WRONG! I am not denying they are are fast and techically advanced, but have they progressed over the last 30 years - NO. Each and every model looks the same as the last [944/928 withstanding] - isnt it time that they spent some of their war chest on pushing the design envelope a little more...look at BMW or Ford..different cars/niches, but at least they take risks and you can tell a naughties model from an 80's one.... PLEASE no more Porches, for at least 12 months!
