In the February 2008 issue of CAR Magazine we interview the great Ari Vatanen. And 20 years ago, before the MEP was interested in transport policy, the EU’s only ex-world rally champion set a Pikes Peak record in a Peugeot 405 T16.
Vatanen’s record – which stood for six years – was celebrated in the film Climb Dance, directed by Jean Louis Mourey. The film is stunning, featuring the infamous moment when Vatanen drives one-handed, using his other hand to shield his eyes from the sun.
