Which is faster? Ferrari 430 Scuderia vs Ducati

I had my money on the car - going on past results.  The Scuderia is an absolutely fantastic car - as focused as a road car could ever be. How good does that make the bike , though!  Would it make much difference if the bike was on its normal road tyres?

Atomic:  no biker would disagree that ultimately an F1 car would be way faster round a track, simply because of the braking and traction available.  What bikers will argue is that a 'normal' supersports bike (eg Honda Fireblade:  £9.2k, 180 bhp, 200 kg wet, standing 1/4 10.3 secs @ 150mph) would beat pretty much any roadgoing car anywhere, so on 'bang per buck' the bike wins hands down.  It's a completely different sensation to driving a car, but I'd urge anyone to ride a superbike - safely - it'll take your breath away (literally)

Cars nearly always win these races. The ultimate test, F1 car vs MotoGP bike shows the car to be MASSIVELY faster. eg at Sepang, the F1 lap record is around 1m34s, the MotoGP record is over 2mins! Now, F1 cars have massive aero-generated grip, but the indication generally holds true.
