Porsche video special: 959, Carrera GT, 911 Turbo, GT2

It appears that the 100,000 (?) readers of CAR magazine, and the 18,000 members of this online community were rather underwhelmed by the "60 Years of Porsche" coverage. I'm surprised how few comments were made on the assorted videos and blogs. A week ago, I complained in several comments about the "same old same old" content. I thought some folks might disagree or agree with me. Instead nothing! Total apathy! Any comments? (By the way - does this warehouse photo shoot represent the future in a Global Warming/Resource Scarce world? Shiny supercars in a spotless Dubai warehouse. Petrol so expensive that nobody can afford to drive outside anymore. Outside the airconditioned building, the temperature is 130degF - so nobody goes outside anymore. The only people who can afford such cars - the folks that own the oil? Makes you think - unlike the 60th anniversary crap!)

Personally, I liked the special. I absolutely love some of the racing Porsches - the 917 is one of my all time favourite designs. I also appreciated the handy colour coding of 911s so we could tell one from the other. The one really discordant note was the drawing of the Panamera - I hope the artist got that wrong as it look even worse than previous spy shots suggested. At last, a car that makes the Cayenne look well proportioned and compact.
