Bentley angles for more customers with Bentayga Fly Fishing by Mulliner

► Mulliner creates bespoke Bentley fishing kit
► Fits in the boot of the Bentayga luxury SUV
► Everything you need, and a mere snip at £80k

If you’re a keen fisherman with plans to buy a Bentley Bentayga, but you’ve been put off by a lack of practical space for all of your equipment, fear not – Bentley’s personalisation arm, Mulliner, has just the answer.

The snappily-named Bentayga Fly Fishing by Mulliner features a set of custom-made units situated in the boot that will fit everything the modern fly fisher could possibly want. Well, if they’re willing to stump up the £80k price the upgrade commands, that is.

What do I get for my money?

An exquisite boot-mounted storage system, four fishing rods stowed in leather tubes and landing nets kept in leather bags, of course. Gone are the days of chucking your damp fishing equipment in the back of your car – this Bentayga organises it all for you.

Mulliner’s storage system consists primarily of a master tackle station, trimmed in saddle leather and burr walnut veneer. In the adjacent sections you’ll find a refreshment case with three metal flasks, fine china and a separate compartment to store your caviar. You can remove this tackle station and use it for additional seating too, thanks to a quilted leather finish on top.

Then there’s a wooden trunk wrapped in leather to keep your wet waders and boots in after a day’s fishing, so you don’t have to worry about messing up the interior of your £160,000 luxury SUV – or, more importantly, have it smelling of damp fishing equipment. An integrated dehumidifier will also help quell any damp-related issues.

Can I still use the boot if I need to?

If you take part in other country pursuits, the equipment can be removed to free up the Bentayga’s boot. You won’t lose all of Mulliner’s premium touches in a stroke by doing so either; new ‘Welcome Lights’ beam Bentley and Mulliner logos down from the door mirrors when you unlock the car. Or, if you want to differentiate yours from your friends’, you can have the illumination personalised.
