CAR launches its first iPad app: a BMW yearbook

Published: 01 March 2012 Updated: 26 January 2015

CAR has launched its first iPad app on the iTunes store – a rich multimedia book about BMW. It’s the digital version of The A-Z Of BMW In 2012 book given away with the December 2011 issue of CAR Magazine.

Download our free app for brilliant stories on the new BMWs of today – the 3-series, M5 and 6-series – and the exciting electric cars of tomorrow, including the i3 carbonfibre supermini and i8 electric sports car.

What’s in CAR Magazine’s first iPad app

This free app mixes CAR’s definitive writing with the beautiful production values you’ve come to expect from us: stunning photography comes to life on the iPad screen, there are galleries and interactive elements galore and a smattering of videos, including drives across Spain in the M5 and going very sideways with touring car champ Andy Priaulx.

The A-Z Of BMW In 2012 stretches from A for adventure (visiting Europe’s circuits where the 6-series touring car raced) to Z for Z4 (a drive in the new, cheaper four-cylinder).

In between we cover the new cars, tech and trends transforming BMW in 2012. Find out how future BMWs will become networked, read about the logistics of the London Olympics and don’t miss our design critic Stephen Bayley’s essay on the legendary BMW Art Cars.

How do I download CAR Magazine’s BMW app?

Click here to download the app from Apple’s app store. It’s totally free – so have a play and let us know what you think.

We’ll be monitoring all feedback to help us improve the apps we develop in future. So please download, tell your car enthusiast mates and give us a rating if you like what you find!
