Smart ForTwo Edition Limited Two

What’s new on the Smart stand?

The Edition Limited Two – hardly the most breathtaking world premiere on show. There’ll be 2000 made and owners will be treated to brown leather – ‘cognac brown’, says Smart – heated seats and some silver highlights. Outside, the Edition Limited Two is distinguished by its unique light blue metallic paint, which, apparently, ‘shimmers with silver-beige nuances’. Looked silver/blue to us.

All cars are fitted with the 71bhp petrol engine and automated five-speed transmission while either coupe or cabriolet variants are available.

CAR highlight

It’s not exactly a must-see stand, but the cut away bodyshell could prove mildly fascinating for Meccano fans. It’s also worth checking out the Cdi model – with 88g/km CO2 it’s achieved the lowest standard consumption worldwide. Take that Toyota Prius.

What were they thinking?

There used to be the ForFour and the Roadster. Not anymore. So to fill the stand there are nine almost identical cars. If we weren’t pro-car, we’d be tempted to ask how much CO2 it took to get them all there.

In a nutshell

Low on news value, but newly slimlined Smart is one of the most relevant brands of the show.
