► £500 pack comes with drone
► Just 200 for UK market

Yes, you read that right – the drone invasion really has begun. Nissan has introduced a new package for its X-Trail SUV called the X-Scape, which includes your very own drone to record your various lifestyley trips out.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen drones on or paired with a car, though. The Rinspeed Etos was a self-driving concept car that had a drone landing pad behind the seats, and the Mercedes Vision Van included two drones that could help with making deliveries.

So what’s the Nissan X-Trail X-Scape drone like?

Owners picking this option get their very own Parrot Bebop 2 drone, which weighs just 500g. It has ‘follow me’ GPS technology so will keep track of you autonomously from the air when you’re doing a bit of greenlaning and has a flight time of 25 minutes.

Along with the usual remote control, you also get a pair of ‘Parrot Cockpitglasses’ which means you can even get a first-person view of the drone’s camera flying above you. Once the fun is all done, the drone can be packed away in a special padded backpack.

Totally radical, dude! How much?

Just 200 X-Scape packs will be available for the UK out of 1200 in total for all of Europe. The pack is priced at £500, and only available on X-Trail N-Vision and Tekna cars ordered through Nissan dealers.
