Should Rolls-Royce build an SUV? Last week Goodwood confirmed Project Cullinan, the internal codename for the top-end 4×4 – and it’s proving to be one of the most controversial announcements of 2015.

Vote in our poll below to have your say over BMW’s decision to launch luxurious Rolls-Royce into the competitive posh-roader segment. This car will be a behemoth, stretching to 5.5m long on an all-aluminium spaceframe architecture and powered by a V12 petrol engine mustering in excess of 600bhp.

The Cullinan will compete against the upmarket Bentley Bentayga, the new Maserati Levante and the Tesla Model X, to name but three posh-roaders. It is due to be shown in 2018, with an on-sale date provisionally pegged for 2019. Our image above is CAR magazine’s rendering.
