Record Ferrari parade at Silverstone (2012)

It’s been some time since we’ve seen traffic like this on one of the UK’s best known racetracks. All of the necessary evidence has now been submitted to confirm the 964-strong meeting of Ferraris at Silverstone to be a Guinness world record.

Felipe Massa led the parade at the wheel of a 458 Spider, while the 964 cars shattered the previous record of 490 cars at Japan’s Fuji Speedway Circuit.

Charity donation by Ferrari

In addition, Ferrari donated £5 for every car in the parade to the charity BEN, a British charity supporting employees of the motor industry and their families.

The occasion also offered Prancing Horse fans an opportunity to get up close and personal with Ferrari’s latest offering, the F12 Berlinetta.

The entire gathering amounted to 5000 litres of engine capacity, 10,000 cylinders, and 500,000 Italian horsepower -no doubt the locals would have been seeing red…
