And stretch… Mystery six-door Audi A8 limo spotted in Sweden

And now for something completely different. CAR’s spies spotted this elongated six-door Audi A8 limo parked late one evening in Sweden, and its provenance is something of a mystery.

Stretch limos are generally custom one-offs, of course, but this particular car is wearing Audi test plates, which suggests it could be a prototype of some sort. A mule for a limo version of the next-gen A8 for overseas markets, we wondered? A specially built machine for a foreign dignitary? Or maybe some of the engineering staff are planning a very expensive hen party? 

In fact, Audi has since confirmed that it’s a one-of-a-kind customer order. Either way, it’s one of the most striking cars we’ve spotted recently…
