Jaguar XJ (2010) meets the XF in the desert

Published: 20 July 2009 Updated: 26 January 2015

You’ve seen the official photos of the new 2010 Jaguar XJ. Now see the unofficial shots, as Jaguar engineers hot weather test the new XJ in America. We’ve got shots of it testing alongside an XF (which looks quite, whisper it, timid compared to the XJ) and a whole gallery of pictures of it on the road with a stunning Californian backdrop.

It’s an unusual sequence of Jaguar spy photos. Perhaps too professional, too staged? We wondered at first if there was some collusion in these beautiful shots, but have been assured by our people in America that there wasn’t any help from Jag. Not that it matters.

The new spy photos certainly show the undisguised new XJ from every which angle against some breath-taking backdrops. The light blue metallic paint shows off the black glazed C-pillar to good effect – it’s sure to provoke more controversy.

When can I actually see the new Jaguar XJ in the metal?

The new 2010 XJ will be shown to the public for the first time at this month’s Salon Privé show in London, followed by its official international show debut at the 2009 Frankfurt motor show.
