Vauxhall's new Meriva: the suicide door in action

Here’s the confirmation that the new 2010 Vauxhall Meriva will have suicide doors – our spies have caught the new Meriva with its handclap rear doors opened up for the first time.

Vauxhall and Opel have long claimed its new small mini-MPV would have clever packaging solutions and the 2008 Meriva concept car afforded our first glimpse of the suicide doors at a conceptual level.

Like the show car, the production Meriva will stick with a chunky B-pillar; the laws of physics rule out gouging away the whole side of the car, sadly.

When will we see the new Vauxhall/Opel Meriva for real?
