Artega GT (2010) spotted by CAR reader

Not a scoop in the traditional sense, but an interesting spot nonetheless. CAR Online reader Jack Turner spied an Artega GT on his travels in the Czech Republic.

‘I spent a couple of weeks in Prague and stumbled across this amazing looking car during my time in the city – I think it was parked near the Old Town Square,’ he said.

‘I hadn’t heard of the manufacturer before – Artega – but it looked fantastic and really well put-together.’

Artega GT: a new Porsche Cayman rival

The Artega GT is German-made and a homespun alternative to the Porsche Cayman. Harnessing a 3.6-litre V6 amidships, the 300bhp GT is a reasonably lightweight 1285kg. Light enough for a 4.8sec 0-62mph time and a top whack of 168mph.

Shame we don’t see more of them around, really. As Jack says, it’s a tempting proposition. You can read the Artega GT first drive review by our European editor Georg Kacher here.
