Audi RS5 (2010) first official video

Published: 12 March 2010 Updated: 26 January 2015

The Audi RS5 has been a long time coming. It was nearly two years ago that CAR’s Georg Kacher first scooped Audi’s 21st century Quattro but now it’s finally here and Ingolstadt has just released a video of the RS5 in action.

The video is 11 minutes and 21 seconds long so make yourself comfortable, sit back and watch Audi’s new RS5 in action. Keep an eye out for the ur-Quattro making a cameo too.

Audi RS5: key facts nice and quick please

Power comes from a naturally aspirated, direct-injection 4.2-litre V8 that produces 444bhp at 8250rpm, along with 317lb ft from 4000 to 8000rpm. With four-wheel drive and a quick-shifting S-tronic dual-clutch gearbox the 0-62mph dash takes 4.6 seconds, and the standard top speed is 155mph – some extra cash will increase that to 174mph.

The Quattro system sends 60% of torque to the back wheels under normal driving conditions but a new crown-gear centre diff can direct up to 70% of the twist to the rear. There’s a torque vectoring system too, and Audi’s Sport differential to actively split the twist between the rear wheels.

UK deliveries commence in October 2010 and prices start at £57,480, but expect most buyers to spec the sports exhaust and carbon-covered engine bay as well.
