Manhart MH5 700: the M5 that's as powerful as a 720S

► Looks menacing, too

Fancy a BMW M5 with far more shove? It’s not like it needed it, but Germany-based Manhart Performance has created a monster.

The new MH5 700 is based on the latest-generation F90 M5 and uses the same 4.4-litre twin-turbo V8, but Manhart has added its own ECU that it’s nicknamed MHtronik. The tuner says that power from the V8 has been cranked up to 710bhp – equal to that of a McLaren 720S – and 642lb ft. Crazy numbers.

There’s no quoted 0-62mph time, but it’ll naturally be quicker than the already stonking sprint time of a standard M5 – 3.4 seconds. What Manhart does say, though, is that 62mph to 124mph acceleration surge is over with in 5.9 seconds.

Lowered coilover springs by 20mm feature, as do 21-inch Manhart ‘Concave One’ alloys. That and the more extreme bodykit – which is the more obvious difference, including a spoiler that’s been taken from Manhart’s modified X6, a full carbon front diffuser and carbon bonnet.

To top it all off, there’s a full stainless steel exhaust system that ‘shouts like there is no tomorrow’.
